An election took place in March 2026, a new government has yet to be formed, and it is unlikely that there will be much progress on the transposition of the Platform Work Directive before the new government is in place.
Academics have been commissioned to write a report about transposing PWD into Slovenian labour law, and this report will be ready in August 2026.
Sindikati Mladi Plus have been lobbying the government over the transposition of the Platform Work Directive, with two key demands: 1) that the legal presumption of employment in PWD is extended to all precarious workers, and 2) that Slovenia makes efforts to strengthen it’s labour inspectorate so that it is capable of tackling bogus self-employment.
