The Ministry of Labour is the responsible body for the transposition of the Platform Work Directive, but in practise the ministry of Digital Governance has taken a leading role in the transposition.

There is a working group that has been established for the transposition since May 2025 but the General Confederation of Greek Workers (Γ.Σ.Ε.Ε) has been excluded from this body.

There was a public hearing of the working group in 2026 which Γ.Σ.Ε.Ε has attended but no proposals from the government were revealed at that hearing.

It is likely that the proposal for the transposition will be made public in September 2026.

The Γ.Σ.Ε.Ε presented a proposal for a platform work law in 2021 which would establish a presumption of employment and ensure minimum rights and collective bargaining, and has proposed that the government pursues this plan when transposing the Platform Work Directive.

Γ.Σ.Ε.Ε is also proposing that a tripartite administrative body is established including unions, employers and the government to follow the implementation of the Directive and ensure compliance.
