The competent authorities for the Platform Work Directive in Bulgaria are as follows:
- Minister of Labour and Social Policy (legislation drafting);
- National Council for Tripartite Cooperation (discussions with the Social Partners);
- Council of Ministers (final version of the drafted legislation);
- National Assembly (adoption, amendment, supplementation and repeal of legislation)
A working group with social partners on transposition of the Directive was held on 24 February. It was agreed that the working group would meet regularly to inform the preparation of the transposition law. A second meeting of the working group is scheduled for the second week of April.
National elections will be held in April with a new government expected to be in place by May 2026. The process of transposition is expected to speed-up once the new government is in place.
